I'm c. joy allen. You can call me "cjoy". I got that nickname when my mom used my first intial and middle name to make me fit her phone's contact list better. I loved it. So I kept it.
I've been happily married for over 17 years and love it better every year! No, it hasn't been easy, but it's been well worth every struggle and effort. We have four kids - two boys, two girls - and they definitely keep us on our toes. I never planned to homeschool but was known to say that if there ever came a time when any of my kids needed it, I would do it. Well, that time did come and we're on our sixth year of homeschooling now. It's not a simple thing, and the needs of my kids and myself constantly change. I've learned more and more to let things go and not work so hard to conform to the outward standard many set. Above all, I want my children's heart to be cultivated first, their minds second.
I'm also a writer. And let's just say that Work In Progress applies to so much more than the story I'm writing--it applies to me as well, in a thousand different ways. In my personal life, spiritual life, and writing life. I'm going to keep pushing on, keep growing, and keep seeking what His plans are for me. Aside from that, well, I'll just have to see what God does with me. I'll take it one day at a time....or at least try to.
One other passion I have is taking care of my family in the healthiest way possible. It's not always easy, and it certainly isn't always practical, but I work hard to choose the options best for us. I've got kids with food allergies and there are other (relatively minor) health issues in our household. So keeping us healthy is important to me.
I hope you'll stay and visit. Mostly, I'll talk about life in general, reading & writing, allergies & caring for our health, and the Lord. He is integral in all that I do and all that I am. Without Him, I am nothing.
Please, come on in--I'd love for you to stay and visit a while, and I'd love to hear about you....leave me a comment or shoot me an email and introduce yourself. I always enjoy making new friends.
