After resisting the repeated nudges to enter ACFW of Virginia's annual contest, The Crown, I submitted two entries at the last minute. This week, I discovered one of my entries made it to the final round!

Traditionally, contests have not been my thing--for a variety of reasons. But this one stood out to me because the judges are not my writing peers or equals, they are authors in their own right, enough experience to know more than I do. I'm glad I braved it, but most of all I treasure the friends who have encouraged me and prompted me to do this. There are many such friends and they are amazing, each one.
